We raced in Pau, in France, last year. That was good, and we know how our car is on such a track. We have a soft car, really good at absorbing the bumps, so it is a good point.”

We are on the right pace today… but tomorrow is another day! Yesterday I did quite a lot of laps with my scooter, but with the racing car it is another world! The car feels good here, so we will see. Erik Janis, nr 15 S-Berg Racing Team Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 : “It is my first time in street circuit, so I have no experience. The track is quite easy to learn, but there are several corners where it is easy to lose a lot of time. The walls are very close, it is a bit scary, and it is really hard to overtake. And of course, if you do a mistake you destroy the car. The qualifying will be really important, more than in any other place.”

Klaus Ludwig, nr 16 Martini Callaway Racing Corvette Z06: “I’m delighted to be there. It is a fantastic idea to race in the middle of a town. I’m used to do that in America, and I enjoy it. I think there are few adjustments to do to improve the track, but it is great to be here, and I hope we will come back each year in Bucharest. I hope a lot of people will come to see the race.”

Diego Alessi, nr 23 BMS Scuderia Italia Aston Martin DBRS9 : “It is a track for true drivers ! It is technical, and it is hard to make the difference. I like it ! I’m sure that we are going to improve tomorrow and during the race. We need more confidence, and the track is going to be faster and faster. I do not know if the Aston Martin is the ideal car for this track, but we hard working hard and we’ll manage with BMS Scuderia Italia to find a good set up.”

Frederic Makowiecki, nr 26 Hexis Racing Aston Martin DBRS9 : “The team worked really well, and they prepared a great car. We had to choose a set up very different from Silverstone. We found a good solution, we had some other ideas, and anyway we are on the right track. Jean-Claude Lagniez is also on a good pace, he likes a track like this very much, so we could do something good. Our only worry: if it is raining it is going to be a nightmare!”

Andy Thompson, nr 28 Damax Ascari KZ1R GT3 : “The Ascari is great on this circuit… but I have to say that I’m very surprised to be on the front, compare to where we were in Silverstone ! We haven’t touched the set-up, we just put the car on track to see how it is, and it seems to be really good. I had a good feeling on this track, it is really exciting to drive here.”

Stephane Daoudi, nr 34 JMB Racing Ferrari 430 : “The car is good on all the track, except on the only fast corner, where we lost a lot of time. We had a lot of under steering, and with the walls so close it is not ideal! If we find the solution to change that, we will be on the right pace. The track is fantastic, but we need to be very concentrated because mistakes are forbidden. The track is faster, we had better sensation, so everybody will be quicker tomorrow.”

Henri Moser, nr 38 Kessel Racing Ferrari 430 : “It is my first time on a street track, it is crazy ! The track is bumpy, the car is moving a lot. It is another way of driving, another world from Silverstone. I’m happy with my time, I’m lucky because I had quite a few clear laps. The race is going to be really hot, we have no choice, we have to start from the first row:”

Martin Bartek, nr 43 Matech Racing Ford GT : “First of all, we had to discover the track, and it was not easy as during the first free practice session I did only three laps with all the red flags ! It is not the best track for our car, nevertheless we had a really good engine, with power everywhere, and it is an advantage here.”

Jacques Lafitte, nr 49 AutoGT Racing Morgan Aero 8 : “It is the first time that our car has taken part in an official session ! I had few brake problem, but it is a victory for us just to be here. We also had a problem with our exhaust system, but we will find a solution before tomorrow. The track is really fun, but as I do not know the car, I’m far from the limit and we will learn a lot this week end.”
